What is marble
Nov 01, 2018

Marble, also known as marble, is a recrystallized limestone with a major component of calcium carbonate. Limestone softens under high temperature and high pressure and recrystallizes to form marble when the mineral content changes. The main ingredients are calcium and dolomite, which have many colors and usually have obvious patterns and many mineral particles. The Mohs hardness is between 2.5 and 5.

Marble (3)

Marble is a metamorphic rock formed by the high temperature and high pressure of the original rock in the earth's crust. The internal force of the crust promotes the change of the original various types of rocks, that is, the structure, structure and mineral composition of the original rock change. After the qualitative change, a new rock is called metamorphi rock.

Marble is mainly composed of calcite, limestone, serpentine and dolomite. Its main component is calcium carbonate, accounting for about 50%. Since marble generally contains impurities and calcium carbonate is exposed to carbon dioxide, carbides, and water vapor in the atmosphere, it is also easily weathered and eroded, and the surface quickly loses its luster. The nature of marble is generally soft, as opposed to granite.
